There is a normalized traumatization of young boys that occurs in early life. Culturally, discussions primarily take place about the warping of young girls’ minds to submit to the color pink, to the kitchen, to the bed, to childbirth, to sexual assault, to the male gaze, to bras and shaving, to situations that they would not exist in if given the choice.

These conversations are necessary and they need to occur with greater frequency.

Relatedly, what is often not included in these instances (and is necessary and requires greater frequency) is the paralleled violence that is enacted on young boys — primarily at the hands and words of male figures (parental and otherwise).
